Lifeguarding
To become a lifeguard you need to be 14 years of age or older. (Adults most welcome!)
By becoming a lifeguard you will learn skills that will stay with you for the rest of your life, and at the same time be part of an awesome group of people who help the wider community.
There are many pathways that you can achieve in your journey as a lifeguard:

There are many pathways that you can achieve in your journey as a lifeguard:
- Deep water rescue board certificate
- First Aid level 1 & 2
- PHEC level 3 (Pre Hospital Emergency Care)
- Marine VHF Certificate
- Crewman award (being able to sit at the front of an IRB for rescues)
- IRB Drivers award (being able to be in charge and drive an IRB)
- Attend motor workshops
- Kite Surfer rescue trainings
- Patrol Captains award (being in charge of the patrol)
- Intermediate guard award (upskilling as a lifeguard)
- Advanced guard award (further upskilling and being able to step out of a helicopter into the sea at height)
- Instructors award (teaching others the skills to become a lifeguard / crewman / IRB driver)
- Leadership for Life workshops
- Examiner (being able to examine those sitting their awards)
- Facilitator (being able to run workshops)
- Coach
- Official
- Become part of the after hours Rescue Squad
- Mentor
